APPLIED FOUNDATION TESTING CELEBRATES 10 YEARS

Time flies when you’re having fun! It’s hard to believe it has been 10 years already. Applied Foundation Testing was founded 10 years ago by Donald Robertson, P.E. and Michael Muchard, P.E. with a core goal of providing independent Statnamic Load Testing services. At that time Statnamic load testing was an emerging technology that showed great promise as a cost effective, efficient and reliable alternate to static load testing. AFT recognized this and formed a lasting relationship with its inventor Berminghammer Foundation Equipment to advance the art, science and practice of Statnamic Load Testing.

AFT started out in a two room office inside a warehouse in Green Cove Springs, Florida. The office space was tight, but desire for success was high. The drilled shaft foundation industry was among the first to quickly realize the benefits of Statnamic load testing. Other foundation industries followed and the company started experiencing rapid growth. In our 3^rd year, AFT built a new headquarters in Green Cove Springs and opened an office in Tampa, Florida. Expansion continued with the Raleigh, North Carolina office addition and most recently Baton Rouge, Louisiana. AFT now performs testing all over the USA, Canada and Caribbean.

Along with the office growth came staff growth. The foundation of our company is our employees. AFT is a collection of highly specialized engineers, technicians and professional support staff. Their loyalty, dedication, pride in the company and hard work is a direct contributor to the success of our company today. And their commitment to quality has lead to our good reputation in the industry.

Over the years AFT has expanded its services to include other contemporary foundation quality assurance test methods such as: Shaft Inspection Device (Mini-SID), Crosshole Sonic Logging (CSL), Sonic Integrity Testing (SIT), Caliper Logging of Drilled Shafts, Strain Gage Instrumentation, Automated Data Acquisition, Turn Key Static Load Testing Systems up to 1500 Tons, Post Grouted Drilled Shafts (SynchroPile^®), Smartpile^® Wireless Dynamic Pile Testing, Conventional Dynamic Pile Testing (PDA^®) , CAPWAP^®, Wave Equation, Noise and Vibration Monitoring, SPT Energy Measurements, Existing Foundation Length Studies and Specialty Engineering.
